Not once in his lifetime did Yabu Kota ever imagined hearing such painful words..




"Kou, We're not supposed to be lovers." Hikaru said it the day when they were supposed to be celebrating their 3rd anniversary, taken by shock, Yabu Kota was motionless for a few minutes and Hikaru patiently waited for his reaction.



"hahaha!Hikaru, don't kid like that! I almost thought you were serious!" Yabu laughed still uncertain and tried to hug his Hikaru, when he saw Hikaru took a step back and did not show that toothy grin that he was expecting, Yabu Kota turned his back on his best friend slash lover trying to hide his tears.



"Why?" He managed to choke out after a few minutes of internal struggle.



"Because..." Hikaru hesitated, he don't want to do this but this is the only way..right? "..we're best friends, we shouldn't confuse our feelings into something else, I should have realized this earlier,are you sure that what you actually felt for me is- -" He wasn't able to finish the lie that he has been practicing for a while now when Yabu turned around and faced him, Yabu grabed his shoulder and shook him, anger and desparation hinted in his eyes.



"Cut that crap Hika,What's your problem? How could you mercilessly tell me such things? How about all the things we've done? the nights we've shared? we were practically each other's life and soul right? Or am I the only one who's thinking about that all this time?!" Yabu tried his best to stood firm but everything came in a flash and images of Hikaru with other guy started flooding his mind making his knees buckle and give up, he'd entered the self-loathing moment in his life and he couldn't even lift up his eyes now.



"Hi- -Hika, do you still love me?" That question almost took all of Hikaru's will then and there and almost made him change his mind and thought of pouncing on his lover telling that it was just one of his pranks, say sorry and kiss and make up, but then that would be impossible now, no, Hikaru decided to end this pain right now even if it means lying straight in front of the most important person in his life.



"I Don't know Kou." With that cold answer, he left and never turned back hiding the fact that his eyes were full of tears and his heart shattering to pieces.






"Hikaru are you alright?" Inoo asked as he entered his house not surprised to see one of his best friends slumped on his sofa hiccuping while trying to pull out his hair like a madman.



"You know the answer so don't ask already Inoo." Hikaru looked up which made Inoo whinced seeing the pair of blood shot eyes encasing probably the most painful emotion one could feel.



"Did you really think that this is the best thing to do? You could have just told him the truth." Inoo prodded a little as he sat beside his friend and tried to ease his friend's pain.



"And what Inoo, kill him slowly the same time that I'm dying? We could do nothing with it! I'd rather let him think that I'm some kind of bitch who used him rather that see him waver day by day and do nothing with it!" Hikaru said, not realizing that he had shouted in front of his friend, Inoo sighed, he could understand Hikaru, of course he would probably do the same thing if he ever got that disease just for the hope of easing the pain of his lover.



"But could you handle this Hikaru?" Inoo asked earning him a look that is in between hilarity and plain sadness.



"I would die in less than six months!Why would it matter if I could handle it anyway?! The problem is..could Kou handle it?" Hikaru face palmed and sobbed once again.



"Let's leave that to Yuya and Dai-chan okay?" Inoo hugged his friend tightly hoping that it could at least help his friend.



"Hikaru..just try to live happily..okay?" Inoo whispered while rubbing his friends back,a slow nod later came to answer him.






"Dai-chan,I'll leave Yabu-kun to you, okay?" Inoo said to his lover over the phone while checking if everything's been set, he checked his wrist watch, it reads 9:30 AM an hour before their flight. He sighed and look at his friend humming that all too familiar tune which his two best friend loved the most.



"Yup, Daiki, I love you too." Inoo hung up and patted his best friend's shoulder and smiled
